IP camera module IPG-53H20PL-A (Hi3516c + IMX222)
The very first two-megapixel HiSilicon-based module from Xiongmai. It carries a 1/2.8'' Sony IMX222 CMOS Sensor and a HiSilicon Hi3516C Professional HD IP DSP SoC (1920x1080 at 25 fps, realtime).
Note: this module was discontinued long ago; remaining stock is being sold off. The manufacturer's recommended replacement is IVG-HP201Y-AE, with the newer 2MP IMX323 sensor and a new, more powerful Hi3516Cv300 SoC with video analytics and h265 support.
Used in Low Illumination series outdoor and indoor cameras; performs excellently when shooting daytime and night-time video.
This is a two-board module, in which the sensor sits on a separate board to reduce the influence of the SoC board on image quality (heat and EM radiation). This model is the entry-level one in the line and has no support for audio, alarm inputs or USB devices, but it can fairly easily be converted into the higher-end one (IPG-53H20PL-B or IPG-53H20PL-P) by soldering on the missing connectors and diodes. The flash memory does not need to be replaced: its size (16MB) is enough to fit firmware with WiFi and 3G modem support.
The module is popular among enthusiasts, since an SDK exists for the chip and there are alternative firmwares with support for Yandex Disk, Telegram, MQTT, WiFi modules and the IPeye cloud.
