IP camera module IPG-83H50P-B (Hi3516A + IMX178)
Top-of-the-range module for a 5MP IP camera. The 1/1.8'' Sony IMX178 back-illuminated CMOS sensor and the HiSilicon Hi3516A Professional HD IP Camera SoC with h265 support give the camera a resolution of 2590x1944 at 25 frames per second (full real time at maximum resolution).
Note: this module was discontinued long ago. The manufacturer's recommended replacement is the IVG-85HG50PYA-S, with the more sensitive 5MP Sony IMX335 sensor and the more power-efficient Hi3516Ev300 SoC with video analytics and H265 codec support.
Used in premium outdoor and indoor cameras; performs excellently when shooting both daytime and night-time video.
Thanks to Starvis technology (Starvis is Sony's registered trademark for its back-illumination technology), Sony's IMX178 sensor has proven itself excellent at detailed capture of difficult scenes, including in low light.
The module's specification states support for two-way audio, alarm inputs/outputs, and an expansion board with a MicroSD card and WiFi module.
